Escaping the Heat: My July e-ARC Reading List

Summer is in full swing, and while the outside temperatures are soaring, I am happily retreating indoors with a fully loaded e-reader. July has brought an absolute treasure trove of Advanced Review Copies (e-ARCs) my way, and I couldn't be more excited about the sheer variety in this month’s stack. From sun-drenched contemporary romances perfect for a beach day to eerie, atmosphere-heavy thrillers that make me want to lock the doors, my digital bookshelf is a beautiful mix of seasonal contrast. There is truly something magical about getting an early look at upcoming releases, and this month’s selection feels particularly special.

What strikes me most about my July haul is how it effortlessly bridges the gap between different genres and vibes. On one hand, I’m diving into bright, escapist stories like Portia MacIntosh’s In the Same Boat and Annie England Noblin’s A Happier Medium. On the other hand, my inner spooky-season lover is already rejoicing over darker, more fantastical tales. I've received highly anticipated works from amazing speculative authors, including Tananarive Due’s historical fantasy short Battle of the Round House, Heather Fawcett’s A Labyrinth of Honeybees, and Katie Ortiz’s post-Civil War Gothic novel, The Southern Sorority of Superstitious Witches. Whether I want to unravel a magical mystery, escape into a sci-fi romance, or indulge in early holiday cozy vibes like Victoria Walters’ Hope and Hot Chocolate on Mistletoe Lane, my mood-reading heart is completely spoiled for choice.

As I map out my reading schedule for the rest of the month, the biggest challenge is simply deciding which story to open first. Reviewing ARCs is always a privilege, but getting to share that excitement with all of you makes the reading experience twice as rewarding. Keep an eye out on the blog over the next few weeks, as I’ll be dropping full reviews, aesthetic boards, and reading wrap-ups for these upcoming titles. In the meantime, I’d love to know what’s keeping you company on your e-readers this summer—are any of these titles on your radar yet?

Until the next page, happy reading! 📖✨
